NY Times reported last year on Feb.7th,2015 : When hospitals buy Doctors' offices,Patients Fees Soar.

The reporter was told that Medicare is trying to lower the prices for acquired doctors fees,but it did NOT happen. Medicare compromised to allow HIGHER FEES for doctors acquired before 2017,but future acquisitions of doctors --will be paid at old rates for independent doctors.

So if you go to your cardiologist who used to charge 189$ for Ultrasound of Heart as an independent doctor,you will be charged 453$ now because he was acquired by the hospital before 2017. The bad News is this: YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY 90$ CO-PAY instead of 38$ CO_PAY in the past.
Same problem is for seeing a WALK IN or Primary doctor or a Specialist in Gastroenterology. Hospitals will be doing blood tests,X-rays,MRI,Colonoscopy,Knee surgeries.

You will end up paying 3500$ to 4000$ more for Colonoscopy if you are under 65.Knee surgeries could cost you 10,000$ more--Yes-you pay Co-Pays-but those will be much higher also.
