O' Sole Mio Closes Locations in St. Charles, Batavia
O' Sole Mio closed its doors in Batavia on Friday and closed its St. Charles business, as well, in recent weeks.

A restaurant, coffee and gelato cafe that had locations in St. Charles and Batavia has shuttered both businesses.
The O’ Sole Mio at 27 North River St. in Batavia closed on Friday while the O’ Sole Mio 131 South First Street in St. Charles also closed in recent weeks, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The business closed because of financial reasons, said owner Tory Chiappelli in the Chicago Tribune article.
“We ran out of money, no one was coming, Chiappelli told the Chicago Tribune. “Unfortunately the Batavia community doesn’t support us in the winter months. They were fabulous in the summer, but forgot about us.”

The restaurant/cafe specialized in gelato, offering a variety of flavors, and served Italian coffee, Italian desserts and sandwiches and pasta. There was also a drink menu and an outdoor patio area.
