Parking Info, Street Closures, Traffic Delays Expected for Scarecrow Festival
Motorists should expect delays and are reminded to use caution due to the increased amount of pedestrian traffic.

The 2014 St. Charles Scarecrow Festival will get underway this Friday and continue through Sunday in downtown St. Charles.
The festival is expected to produce heavy vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the downtown area. Motorists should expect delays and are reminded to use caution due to the increased amount of pedestrian traffic.
Parking Info.
Parking will be limited. Festival attendees are encouraged to carpool and use the Remote Park and Shuttle Lots.

The remote park and shuttle lots on the west side are located at:
- Haines Middle School, 9th and Indiana streets
- CUSD #303 Administration Lot, 7th and Indiana streets
- Thompson Middle School (available Saturday and Sunday only), 7th and West Main streets
The park and shuttle lots on the east side are located at:

- Charlestowne Mall, Parking lot “H,” 3800 E. Main St.
The following parking lots will be closed on the listed dates:
- Municipal Parking Lot G: River Plaza Parking Lot – N. 2nd and Cedar/State Streets, closed Wednesday-Sunday.
- Municipal Lot L: Old St. Charles Court Lot – N. 3rd Street, Wednesday through Monday. VFW Lot -N. 3rd and Cedar streets, Wednesday through Monday.
- Municipal Lot A: Checkerboard Lot – Riverside and E. Main Street., Thursday through Sunday
- Municipal Parking Lot J: Municipal Center Parking Lot (south half only) – 100 block North Riverside Avenue, Thursday through Sunday
- Municipal Parking Lot P: Riverside Avenue, north of State Avenue and adjacent to the Police Department, Thursday through Sunday
Street Closures
Parking will be restricted/prohibited on a number of city streets. Additional Handicap parking will be posted on N. 5th parking. Handicap parking areas will be strictly enforced with a $250.00 fine.
St. Charles Police Department and Emergency Management Personnel will be providing pedestrian assistance/traffic control at key intersections. Motorists should expect delays and are reminded to use caution due to the increased amount of pedestrian traffic.
The following streets will be closed on the listed dates:
• North 3rd Street between Cedar and State streets, Thursday-Sunday
• North 3rd Street between Main and Cedar streets, Friday-Sunday
• North 4th Street between W. Main and Cedar streets, Friday-Sunday
• N. 5th Street between W. Main and Cedar streets, Friday-Sunday
