Patchouli concert, Hecksel art exhibit fill Norris Gallery

June 7 Music in the Gallery series concert has a twist - Patchouli guitarist Bruce Hecksel's "Terra Guitarra" and "Love This" paintings

The Norris Cultural Arts Center’s “Music in the Gallery” concert series continues at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 7 with a concert by the folk/flamenco guitar and vocal duo Patchouli. Tickets at $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12 are available by phone at 630-584-7200 or online at NorrisCulturalArts.com.

Nationally touring, award-winning songwriter Julie Patchouli and master guitarist Bruce Hecksel offer their “New American Folk” - a mix of folk, pop, flamenco and jazz with world beat rhythms. Patchouli’s sound has been described as “the harmonies of Simon & Garfunkle meet the guitar brilliance of the Gypsy Kings.” 15 years of touring and recording has honed this classically trained duo into “the hardest working folk duo in America.”

As an added bonus, and continuing through July 12, the “Terra Guitarra” and “Love This” collections of Bruce Hecksel’s original acrylic paintings are on display throughout The Norris Gallery. All 57 paintings in the Hecksel exhibit are available for purchase. Gallery visitors may view the Hecksel exhibit from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Admission and parking are free.
