Police Hand Out Flyers Near Murder Scene as Killer in Double Homicide Still on the Lam

It's been a week since the bodies of Patricia and her son, Robert Wilson were found, inside Patricia's home near Sycamore.

One week after the bodies of an elderly woman and her son were found in a home near Sycamore, authorities are still searching for a killer or killers who beat Patricia Wilson and Robert Wilson to death.

DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office deputies stationed themselves along Old State Road east of Sycamore Sunday night and handed out flyers to motorists passing by. The flyers included information on the car stolen from Patricia Wilson’s home, which is located at 6058 Old State Road, and some basic information on the double homicide.

The bodies of Patricia, 85, and her son, Robert, 74, were found inside Patricia’s home by a relative on the evening of Aug. 15. Police believe the attacker, or attackers, forced their way into the home and then fled in the Chevrolet Impala. Police have been asking for the public’s help to track down the missing 2010 Chevrolet Impala, which has an Illinois registration of 9030980, since last Tuesday.

An intensive investigation has since been under way as 20 detectives from the DeKalb County Major Case Squad follow up on over 300 leads, DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott said in a news release Friday. On Friday, the sheriff’s office announced that, with the help of a private donation, DeKalb County Crime Stoppers would be offering an $11,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in the double homicide.
