Police Seek Public's Help in Finding Missing St. Charles Teen

Shortly after the girl went missing, she posted a message on a social media site that said she intended to hurt herself.

Police are searching for a missing 14-year-old St. Charles girl.

Emily Czajkowsk was last seen after she was dropped off for a dance class at Pottawatomie Community Center at about 6:35 p.m. on July 22. She never attended the class and was seen on video surveillance leaving the building while talking on her cell phone, according to a St. Charles Police Department press release.

She could not be located in the immediate area.

Soon after, she posted a message to friends on a social media site that said she intended to hurt herself by unknown means, according to the news release. That message was quickly deleted.

Emily was spotted walking west on West Main Street a short time after leaving the community center. She then was seen between 7 and 8 p.m. in the area of West Main and South 14th streets.

“There have been no known sightings since that time,” according to the news release. “Her phone either is turned off or is out of power at this point.”

Emily was last seen wearing an unknown brightly-colored shirt, unknown brightly-colored shorts and blue, knee-high socks. She was carrying an oversized, furry snow-leopard-patterned bag.

She likes to attend movies and go shopping.
