Primrose Farm Frolic Is This Weekend In St. Charles

The family event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24.

This weekend, Primrose Farm in St. Charles will host its annual Farm Frolic. The family event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24, at Primrose Farm, 5N726 Crane Road in St. Charles. Admission is $8 for ages 12 years old and over, $4 for ages 2 to 11 years old and free for ages 1 year old and under.

Combining the unique atmosphere of a working dairy farm with exciting fall activities, Farm Frolic is a one-of-a-kind event for kids of all ages. There will be historic demonstrations, traditional games and crafts, tractor-drawn wagon rides, live music and delicious fall foods, according to a news release.

Visitors can launch corn from a cannon, get their face painted, greet farm animals, climb on modern and vintage farm equipment, ride a pony, paint a pumpkin, climb a straw mountain, and so much more. There will also be unique opportunities to experience life on a historic farm - shell corn, try your hand at laundering, learn about woodstove cooking, and see a blacksmith hard at work, according to a news release.

All activities are included in admission. Funds raised from this event will support the continued development of Primrose Farm.

Farm and refreshments will be available for purchase from the home-cooked kitchen of Inglenook Pantry. STC Underground Teen Center will be selling cookies as a fundraiser. Additional sponsors and supporters include McAlister's Deli, Chiro One and the St. Charles Township.
