Reception Opens Elements: Stanuga/Von Ehr Exhibit at 116 Gallery

Meet the artists at a free reception December 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. to mark the opening of a new exhibit at 116 Gallery in St. Charles.

St. Charles, Dec. 4 – The public is invited Saturday, Dec. 9, to attend a free reception from 4 to 7 p.m., marking the opening of a new art exhibit, “Elements: Stangua/Von Ehr,” at 116 GALLERY in St Charles.

The exhibit will remain on display through February 5 in the gallery, located at 116 W. Main St., which presents “extraordinary artists in a gallery that defies the conventional.”

Exhibiting artists Ted Stanuga, Chicago, and Anne Von Her, Aurora, offer distinct approaches to the abstract art form. Anne works with oil and cold wax on canvas in what she describes as a “layering of strokes and colors.” Ted creates in oils on linen in distinctly bold, large formats, begining his work in a gestural abstraction with charcoal, then using oils for an explosion of color.
