Road Reopened After Sinkhole Causes Temporary Closure
City crews quickly repaired a sinkhole that forced a temporary road closure last week in St. Charles.
The intersection of Ohio Avenue and S. 6th Avenue is now open to all traffic.
A sinkhole discovered on the afternoon of March 9 prompted the temporary closure of the intersection while city crews investigated the damage. Public Works began excavation Tuesday morning to determine the cause, and repairs were completed by Tuesday evening.
Residents and emergency vehicles were able to access homes via nearby side streets during the closure.
