Route 25 Closes Near Stearns Road in South Elgin

Route 25 south of Stearns Road in South Elgin will be closed over the next couple weeks as part of a construction project.

Stearns Road will remain open eastbound and westbound with access to Route 25 north. Traffic for southbound Route 25 traffic will be detoured using Route 31 and Route 64/Kirk/Dunham raods.

The closure, which took effect Tuesday, is necessary to allow crews to reconstruct the new intersection as well as the connection to the Brewster Creek Bridge.

Motorists affected by this pattern change are advised to follow the posted detour, pay attention to any flaggers and exercise caution while traveling near the work area.
