Several St. Charles Alderman Seats Up For Grabs In 2019 Election

Those interested in running for the election can now pick up nomination packets.

ST. CHARLES, IL -- Any St. Charles residents interested in running for a seat on the city council in 2019 can now pick up nomination packets. The packets are available at the reception desk in the St. Charles Municipal Building, 2 E. Main Street. Petitions cannot be circulated for signature before Sept. 18, 2018, according to a news release.

The completed nomination packets must be filed between Dec.10 and Dec. 17, 2018. All forms are due to the City Clerk’s office, 2 E. Main Street, St. Charles, by 5 p.m. Dec. 17, 2018.

The 2019 Consolidated Election will be held April 2, 2019. The following offices, which hold four-year terms, are up for election:

  • Alderman, Ward 1 (currently Dan Stellato)
  • Alderman, Ward 2 (currently Rita Payleitner)
  • Alderman, Ward 3 (currently Todd Bancroft)
  • Alderman, Ward 4 (currently Steven Gaugel)
  • Alderman, Ward 5 (currently Ed Bessner)

The Kane County Election Commission can assist with questions about precincts or general election questions at 630.232.5990 or www.kanecountyelections.org.

Election forms also are available online at www.elections.il.gov or contact the State Board of Elections at 217.782.4141. It is recommended that candidates running for office consult with an attorney on specific questions they might have regarding election codes, requirements and more.
