Sidewalk, Pedestrian Ramp Closures Scheduled for This Week in St. Charles
Find out what sidewalk corners and sidewalk ramps in St. Charles will close starting this week.

ST. CHARLES, IL - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that various sidewalk and pedestrian ramp closures will take place along Lincoln Highway (Illinois 38) in St. Charles and Elburn for a pedestrian ramp improvement project beginning this Wednesday, according to a news release.
The closures are part of a larger project to reconstruct existing sidewalk pedestrian ramps to make them compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements in Cook, DuPage and Kane counties. Temporary lane closures also will be necessary adjacent to sidewalk ramps while work is in progress.

The following closures will take place at sidewalk corners and sidewalk ramps in St. Charles from Thursday, Sept. 1 to Friday, Sept. 23:
- Lincoln Highway at Peck Road
- Lincoln Highway at Randall Road
- Lincoln Highway at St. Charles Mall Entrance
- Lincoln Highway at 14th Street
- Lincoln Highway at Bricher Road
Pedestrians should follow sidewalk closure signs. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment, according to the news release.
