Snowshoe Programs Planned In Kane Co. In January, February
The Kane County Forest Preserve District will be hosting four different events at forest preserves in the area.

KANE COUNTY, IL — Whether you’re new to venturing out in the cold snowy months or a seasoned pro, residents can take part in the Kane County Forest Preserve District’s Snowshoe Adventure programs to help give you the skills you need to be comfortable snowshoeing.
After mastering skills like stride length, heel-toe step, and climbing over obstacles, residents can hit the trail for a naturalist-guided hike through the winter wonderland.
Four session are planned in the New Year:

- Thursday, Jan. 6: 1 to 3 p.m. at Camp Tomo Chi-Chi Knolls, 40W095 Freeman Road, Gilberts
- Sunday, Jan. 23: 9-11 a.m. at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles
- Friday, Feb. 11: 1-3 p.m. at Bowes Creek Woods Forest Preserve, 9N420 Crawford Road, Elgin
- Saturday, Feb. 19: 9-11 a.m. at Burnidge Forest Preserve, 14N035 Coombs Road, Elgin
The fee is $25 per person per program. Fees will be collected at the program with payment by cash or check required.
The fee includes equipment rental, skills training, and guided hiking. Registration and shoe size is required one week prior to the program. This program is for ages 8 and above, according to a news release from the forest preserve.
