Spring Brush Pickup Begins Next Week In St. Charles

The city of St. Charles will offer brush pickup for residents on select dates over the coming months.

ST. CHARLES, IL — Brush collection for St. Charles residents begins April 18.

The city of St. Charles will begin picking up branches and other brush on April 18 for residents living east of the Fox River. On April 25, pickup will begin for residents west of the river.

The city will pick up brush on the following additional dates at homes east of the river: May 16, June 20, July 18, August 15, September 19, October 17 and November 14. Pickup dates for the west side of the river include: May 23, June 27, July 25, August 22, September 26, October 24 and November 21.

City officials are reminding residents that brush should be put out by 7 a.m. on Monday of the scheduled pick-up week. Branches must be at least three feet in length and less than 12 inches diameter.

  • Place cut ends facing the street
  • Do not tie bundles of brush with rope or wire and do not pile higher than 4 feet high
  • Branches must be put on the parkway, in front of your house or along the frontage where refuse/recycling is collected
  • Do not park in front of the piles since crews will be unable to pick up the brush

Yard waste, including small branches, trimmings and leaves, is collected on regular refuse days. You can place yard waste in a generic brown paper yard waste bag and place one refuse sticker on each bag.
