Spring Clean-Up Event Will Not Take Place In St. Charles This Year

The City will not be conducting the Spring Clean Up program this year. The program, which allows residents to place unwanted items at the curb for pick up, will be reevaluated for a future year, when the projected impact of COVID-19 on the City budget is expected to be less.

Spring Clean Up Alternatives

Kane County Recycling Events – There are several recycling events planned by Kane County this year. Most events are held at 540 S Randall Road, St. Charles. For details, including dates, times, and items accepted, visit https://www.countyofkane.org/Recycling/Pages/recyclingEvents.aspx .

Community Garage Sale – The Community Garage Sale is April 23 & 24, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Garage Sale benefits the STC Underground Teen Center and is organized by the St. Charles Park District. For details, including registration information, visit https://stcunderground.com/community-garage-sale .

Kane County Recycling Centers – The three area recycling centers listed below are open all year to Kane County residents. For details, including dates, times, and accepted items visit https://www.countyofkane.org/Recycling/Pages/Recycling-Centers.aspx .

Lakeshore Recycling Systems Bulk Item Pick Up – The City’s refuse contractor will pick up bulk items less than 50 lbs. One sticker required per item.
