St. Charles Bar Could Lose Liquor License Over Fireworks Show

The St. Charles Liquor Commission will decide whether to suspend or revoke Alley 64's liquor license or issue a fine.

ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles Liquor Control Commission will meet Monday to decide whether to revoke the liquor license for a St. Charles bar after the business illegally shot off fireworks in February, according to authorities.

Police say the fireworks were shot off from the rooftop of Alley 64, 212 West Main St. in St. Charles, at about 6:20 p.m. on Feb. 4, according to city documents. According to the police complaint, an employee or person working for Alley 64 also provided a false statement to authorities regarding the incident.

Alley 64 owner Jeremy Casiello pleaded guilty in an arraignment form filed on March 16 with the city but has also requested a hearing, according to Shaw Media. Casiello plans to argue for a minimal penalty during the hearing.

Alley 64 has a Class B liquor license and a 2 a.m. late night permit that could be revoked or suspended, according to city officials. A fine could also be imposed.

The St. Charles Liquor Control Commission will meet starting at 4:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 2 E. Main St.
