ST. CHARLES, IL — The Beef Shack, which officially opened its doors eight years ago in St. Charles, has closed. The business shut its doors for good at its location at 2115 W. Main Street on Sunday but franchise owners say plans are in the works to open a "bigger and better" restaurant in town this year, according to the Daily Herald.

Franchise president Dan Perillo told the newspaper the fast-food chain is hoping to open a new establishment with a drive-through window in the next three to six month.

"We love the St. Charles area," he said. "It's a great spot, and we plan to bring (Beef Shack) back."
