St. Charles Decks The Halls For The Holidays
The decorations have been hung in downtown St. Charles and Holiday Homecoming will get underway on Friday.
ST. CHARLES, IL — It's starting to look a lot more like Christmas in downtown St. Charles. City employees began decorating for the holidays in recent weeks and the downtown will soon be lit up and bustling with activity as the holiday homecoming festival gets underway on Friday.
The lighting of the lights ceremony will be held at the 1st Street Plaza at 5 p.m. on Nov. 29. On Saturday, several events will be held around town. A free showing of The Grinch is planned for the Arcada Theatre. Doors open at 9 a.m.

In addition, free horse-drawn trolley rides will run from 1 to 4 p.m. at the 1st Street Plaza and live holiday window displays will run from 1 to 5 p.m. The Electric Christmas Parade will step off at 5:30 p.m. on Main Street.
Santa will also be on hand for visits at the Santa House at the 1st Street Plaza on Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. He will continue to be at the Santa House from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 22.
