After a base hit by Matt Reed, Noah Greenberg walked. A sacrifice bunt by Jimmy Govern moved Reed and Greenberg to second and third. Connor Simpson struck out, leaving the Wildcats with just one more out.
Evan Skoug was intentionally walked. Then came the wild pitch to Kevin Calamari.

"And that will score a run!" exclaimed the game announcer on High School Cube. "A wild pitch brings home Matt Reed and Libertyville hits the scoreboard first."
LHS went on to win the game 9-6 against St. Charles East. The Wildcats will now take on Mt. Carmel at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the state championship. The game will be broadcast live onIHSA.TV.
