St. Charles Family Entertainment Center Closes

Under the Big Top, a family entertainment center in St. Charles, closed abruptly on New Year’s Eve.

In a message to its guests, Under the Big Top wrote on its website that the center, located at 731 N. 17th Street, had a potential buyer interested in purchasing the 32,000-square foot facility but that sale fell through.

Strong efforts were made to save Under the Big Top, leading up to a potential buyer on the very last day. Due to the limbo of this potential sale we couldn’t risk losing future business that we hoped would belong to the new buyer. This is why our messaging abruptly changed from open to ‘closed for the New Year holiday’. We apologize any confusion guests have received over the last few days. Unfortunately, that potential buyer did not wish to further pursue the purchase.

The center opened in 2012. In its farewell message, Under the Big Top wrote they hoped the building would again be used as a family entertainment center in St. Charles in the future.
