St. Charles Fields More Noise Complaints from O'Hare Air Traffic

Have you noticed more air traffic overhead in St. Charles?

In recent months, more St. Charles residents have been issuing noise complaints with the city regarding air traffic from planes leaving and heading toward O’Hare, the Daily Herald reports.

The airport in fall 2012 switched to a mainly east-to-west flight pattern, which routed planes over several suburbs. That change seemed to really start to bother St. Charles residents starting in February when 82 noise complaints were issued with the city, according to the article.

Robert Gunther, who lives on Stonewood Drive in St. Charles, said he is constantly hearing the plane traffic overhead and appeared at a city council meeting this week to request alderman support a petition the FAA to restrict air traffic over St. Charles, the newspaper reports.
