St. Charles Home Uninhabitable After Lightning Strike
A firefighter was injured battling a blaze at the home at 907 Fox Chase Court early Thursday.

ST. CHARLES, IL - Lightning struck a St. Charles home during a storm early Thursday, causing $150,000 in damage, according to a press release from the St. Charles Fire Department.
A firefighter sustained minor injuries while battling the blaze, which was reported at 1:47 a.m. at 907 Fox Chase Court, and the home is currently uninhabitable, fire officials said. The firefighter was treated on the scene.
When firefighters first arrived on scene, they found a fire in the attic and rear of the home. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in 40 minutes, according to the news release.

The occupants of the home were awakened by a storm and decided to check on their residence, according to the news release. At that time, a resident found the fire in the attic and on the second floor of the home.
They were able to safely get out of their home. Neighbors also called to report the fire, fire officials said. The Red Cross has been notified to assist the residents of the home.
