St. Charles Intersection Closed For Water Main Project

ST. CHARLES, IL — The intersection of South Kirk Road and Illinois Avenue will be closed starting Monday.

City officials say the closure is due to a water main replacement project. Kirk Road will remain open during the project but there may be some lane closures, according to a news release from the city of St. Charles.

There will be a posted detour for those wanting to access Illinois Avenue, which will route traffic to 38th and Ohio avenues. Work is expected to be complete in late November, according to a news release.

Drivers should expect traffic delays and are encouraged to take alternate routes.
