St. Charles Jazz Weekend Returns With 50+ Performances Across 29 Venues

ST. CHARLES, IL — The 15th annual St. Charles Jazz Weekend will return Sept. 10-13, bringing more than 50 live jazz performances to 29 venues throughout the city.

The event will feature performances at local restaurants, breweries, businesses, churches and other community venues. Live music also will be featured at the 1st Street Plaza throughout the weekend.

New this year is Jazz on Tap, taking place from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. Attendees can enjoy live music on the plaza while purchasing alcoholic beverages from five nearby participating businesses: Alter Brewing + Kitchen, Gia Mia, La Mesa Modern Mexican, La Za’Za’ Trattoria and McNally’s Irish Pub & Kitchen.

Saturday's 1st Street Plaza lineup includes:

• Noon-12:45 p.m.: St. Charles North High School Jazz Workshop with Jimmy Farace
• 2-2:45 p.m.: St. Charles East High School Jazz Workshop with Miles Smith
• 4-6 p.m.: Abram Collier Nonet

On Sunday, Blueshift Big Band with Abram Collier will perform at the 1st Street Plaza from noon to 2 p.m. That performance is not part of Jazz on Tap, which is offered exclusively Saturday.

Chance To Win $200 Prize

Attendees who check in at three or more Jazz Weekend performances will be entered for a chance to win a prize package valued at $200, including a gift card to the Arcada Theatre and a St. Charles restaurant.

To participate, attendees must download the Travel St. Charles app and create an account. During the event, the Jazz Weekend Challenge will appear under the app's “Challenges” tab, allowing users to check in at performances.

St. Mary Park, Pollyanna Brewing & Distilling, Riverlands Brewing, Rock ‘N Ravioli, Rox City Grill, St. Charles Public Library, St. Charles Motorcycle Museum, The Dance Lab, trend + relic, Vatan Progressive Indian Kitchen, Whiskey Bend, The Wine Exchange and the 1st Street Plaza.
