St. Charles Man Gets 63 Years For Sex Assault of Child

Christopher J. Jackson must also register for life as a sex offender, authorities said.

KANE COUNTY, IL – A St. Charles man has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term for sexually assaulting a child he knew, prosecutors said Thursday. Christopher J. Jackson was sentenced to 63 years in prison after a Kane County jury found him guilty last month to 12 counts of criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony; and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, according to a news release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said Jackson sexually assaulted the victim, whom he knew, between 2013 and 2015. The victim was younger than 18 years old at the time of the assaults.

“This defendant carried on a sexual relationship with a child who should have been able to trust that he would protect and care for, not exploit and victimize," Kane County State’s Attorney Joe McMahon said. "Christopher Jackson’s selfish crimes denied a child a normal and healthy childhood and cost him his freedom."
