St. Charles Man Indicted In Molotov Cocktail Case
Eric C. Eggers faces several charges in connection with incidents that occurred in October in Geneva and St. Charles.

KANE COUNTY, IL — A 25-year-old St. Charles man has been indicted on several charges in connection with allegations he knowingly possessed a Molotov cocktail and damaged property and vehicles in Geneva and St. Charles in October 2019.
Eric C. Eggers is charged with two felony counts for allegedly possessing the Molotov cocktail, according to the Kane County Chronicle. Court documents show police told Eggers to drop an opened box he was carrying, which Eggers told officers was a "Molotov cocktail," according to the Daily Herald. He said he was going to deliver the explosive to a Geneva home. Eggers told police he was angry about a drug deal and only wanted to frighten people at the home.
Eggers, of the 1800 block of Lucylle Court, is also charged with five misdemeanors in connection with incidents that occurred on Oct. 15, 2019, in St. Charles, including two counts of aggravated assault for allegations he carried an item that looked like a firearm and displayed it to two people; and criminal damage charges for damaging vehicles in town, according to the Kane County Chronicle.

In addition, Eggers is charged with four counts of criminal damage to a property for incidents that occurred in Geneva on Oct. 14, 2019. During those incidents, he allegedly damaged homes and vehicles in town as well as reckless discharge of a firearm, according to the article.
