ST. CHARLES, IL — A St. Charles man is facing felony drug charges after receiving a package with over 100 ecstasy pills and about seven grams of methamphetamine, according to reports.
Ryan Engstrom, 36, of Bonnie Court in St. Charles, was the recipient of the drug-filled package from Spain. The Kane County Chronicle reported that federal customs agents contacted the Kane County Sheriff's Office when they realized what was in the package as it arrived at JFK International Airport in New York.
The drugs were worth about $3,000, according to the Chronicle. The Kane County Sheriff's Office worked with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Postal Inspection service. They let the package continue to Engstrom's address while they worked on getting a search warrant.
