St. Charles Mothers' Club Celebrates 90th Year

St. Charles Mothers' Club celebrates 90 years helping the community with scholarships at their end of the year banquet.

St. Charles Mothers’ Club Celebrates Their 90th End of Year Banquet

The St. Charles Mothers’ Club (SCMC) celebrated another end of year banquet in one of their most successful years at the Royal Fox Country Club. With the proceeds from their sold-out bowling fundraiser, which exceeded expectations in raising a little over $9,000, the Mothers’ Club was able to provide scholarships to six Fox Valley mothers through the Sherry Costello Scholarship Award. This scholarship helps mothers who are returning to school to receive their bachelors degree or masters degree. The group also provided financial assistance to three area family-focused, non-profit organizations. Some of the scholarship recipients and representatives from the organizations were in attendance at the end of the year banquet as well as previous members and past Mothers’ Club presidents.

Every year at end of year banquet the current members vote to identify one member who has shown exceptional work throughout the year to receive the Norma Award, lovingly named after Norma DeMaar, a longtime member of SCMC. This year’s award winner was Ashlee Wallace, the current treasurer.
