St. Charles Police Make Arrests During St. Patrick's Detail
St. Charles Police Department officers upped their enforcement efforts in the week leading up to St. Patrick's Day.
ST. CHARLES, IL — The results are in from a recent St. Patrick's Day traffic enforcement effort in St. Charles. The St. Charles Police Department provided additional patrols during the week before St. Patrick's Day and on the holiday in an effort to keep drunken drivers off the streets and prevent other traffic violations, according to a news release from the police department.
During the campaign, which is part of a nationwide effort, local police arrested two for driving while under the influence, including one for felony aggravated driving while under the influence, and arrested another driver for driving while license suspended.
Officers also issued 9 speeding tickets and seven other citations and warnings for various traffic violations.

The Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization was made possible with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
