St. Charles Police Make Arrests, Issue Citations During Recent Traffic Campaign
A roadside safety checkpoint was set up on Route 31 during the Halloween traffic safety campaign.

The St. Charles Police Department made arrests and issued citations during a recent traffic safety campaign held over the Halloween weekend.
The campaign involved extra patrols and a roadside safety checkpoint on Halloween night on Illinois Route 31 a half-mile north of West Main Street, according to a St. Charles Police Department press release. There have been 29 crashes on Route 31 north of that location in the past year -- 12 of which involved either an injury or severe damage to the vehicle and one that resulted in a fatality.
During the Halloween traffic campaign, St. Charles officers made the following arrests and issued the following citations:

- two DUI arrests
- one drug arrest
- one seat belt citation
- two citations for suspended/revoked licenses
- two citations for uninsured motorists
- seven citations for speeding
- five citations for other violations
- ten warning tickets.
St. Charles police remind residents to continue to drive carefully and to help them in keeping impaired drivers off the streets.
