St. Charles Police Release Results From Halloween Details
The local police department increased enforcement efforts between Oct. 19 and Nov. 3.
St. Charles PD: The St. Charles Police Department completed the Halloween Mobilization Campaign associated with the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP). Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this effort to save lives by getting impaired drivers off the roads and more people buckled up. The enforcement crackdown took place from Saturday, October 19, 2019 through the early morning hours of Sunday, November 3. Officers assigned to this detail made:
· No arrests
· Issued 2 Speeding citations

· Issued 1 Distracted Driving citation
· Issued 2 citations for other violations

· Issued 11 warning citations for various violations.
The goal of this program is to reduce the frequency and severity of injury related crashes. The extra patrol assignments for DUI and seat belt enforcement are made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket It campaigns.
Efforts with this enforcement will continue throughout the fall season.
