St. Charles Police Release Results From St. Paddy's Day Detail

The local police department stepped up efforts in the week before St. Patrick's Day.

ST. CHARLES, IL — The results are in from a traffic enforcement detail that took place during the week of St. Patrick's Day in St. Charles.

During the mobilization, St. Charles Police Department officers arrested one driver for drunken driving, issued four speeding citations and arrested one driver for driving while license was suspended, according to a news release.

The St. Charles Police Department conducted extra patrols during the week before St. Patrick's Day as part of a nationwide Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement effort.

The St. Charles Police joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois with their effort, including the Kane County States Attorney’s Office which held a “no refusal” weekend.

The Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization was made possible with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
