St. Charles Pools Could be on Track for Record-Breaking Attendance Year

Excellent weather is drawing visitors out to Otter Cove Aquatic Center and Swanson Pool.

ST. CHARLES, IL - If you have gotten the chance to stop out this summer to one of the St. Charles Park District’s packed pools you may not be surprised to learn attendance numbers so far are through the roof as park district officials say excellent weather has lead to few closures at Otter Cove Aquatic Center and Swanson Pool, according to the Kane County Chronicle.

In fact, the pools could be on track for a record-breaking attendance year, Assistant Superintendent of Recreation Jen Bruggeman told the Kane County Chronicle. As of July 19, Otter Cove, at 3615 Campton Hills Road, had 19,000 daily admissions so far with an additional 19,000 visits from its pass holders. As for Swanson Pool, which is located at Pottawatomie Park, 8 North Avenue, 17,000 visitors have stopped out so far.

And for those who are still hoping to get plenty of days at the pool, the St. Charles Park District is now offering half-season passes, which are valid July 11 through Sept. 5. An individual pass for a resident is $58 and is $73 for “neighbors” to the park district, which includes Campton Hills, LaFox, Wasco, West Chicago, Geneva, South Elgin, Wayne, Elburn, Batavia, Elgin and Maple Park. A two-person household can pay $104 for a resident pass and $131 for a neighbor's pass.
