St. Charles Recycling Facility To Expand

ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles City Council voted last week in favor of expanding a recycling facility.

InterPlastics, located at 3655 Illinois Avenue, is planning to build a new 25,173-square-foot building, according to Shaw Media. The company recycles plastic and nonferrous metals and its current building is being used mainly to grind post-consumer industrial scrap.

Community Development Director Russell Colby said the new building will be used to storematerials, which are currently mostly being stored in trailers, according to the article.
