New Playground Unveiled At St. Charles Park
Residents helped during the park district's planning process to offer input on Fairview Park renovations. They also voted on final design.
ST. CHARLES, IL -- Input from the St. Charles community helped to make the redesign at a local park a reality. The St. Charles Park District revealed its new playground at Fairvew Park during a ribbon-cutting ceremony in recent weeks. Residents came out during the planning process for the park renovations, which started last September, and ultimately voted on the final design, Erika Young, public relations and marketing manager for the Park District, told the Kane County Chronicle.
The new more contemporary design includes swings and slides but also climbing structures and parent-friendly amenities, according to the article. In total, the renovation project cost $250,000.
Late last month, a grand re-opening ceremony was held at the park, located at the corner of Oak Street and Fairview Drive. City officials, park district employees, park board members and over 100 residents stopped out to celebrate the renovations.

“I would say that this is the most positive reception to a playground renovation since I’ve been here,” Rudow told the Kane County Chronicle.
