St. Charles Streets Slated for Resurfacing This Summer
A total of 11 streets will be resurfaced this summer. Find out if your street is part of the city's 2017 Street Rehabilitation Project.

Eleven streets in St. Charles are scheduled for resurfacing this summer. In total, the roadways make up two miles of city streets with construction expected to start in early June. The roadwork should wrap up by mid-August, city officials said in a news release.
Here is a look at all the St. Charles streets scheduled for resurfacing this summer:
- Banbury Avenue from Madison to Independence avenues
- Banbury Court from Banbury Avenue to the end of the cul-de-sac
- Bent Avenue from North 2nd to North 4th avenues
- Dunham Place from Dunham Road to the end of the street
- Fellows Street from South 13th to South 12th streets
- North 3rd Avenue from Park to North avenues
- North 5th Street from West Main to Cedar streets
- Pleasant Avenue from South 13 to Jewel avenues
- South 13th Street from Horne to Fellow streets
- South 14th Avenue from Indiana to South avenues
- South 14th Street from Route 38 to Prairie Street
The city has contracted with Geneva Construction for its 2017 Street Rehabilitation Project. Residents living on streets expected to be resurfaced should keep an eye out for a letter from public works. If you receive an orange parking pass, work is anticipated to impact access to your driveway, according to a news release.

“The city of St. Charles Public Works Department maintains over 135 miles of roadways each year through a variety of maintenance strategies such as resurfacing, pavement patching, rejuvenation and reconstruction,” said Karen Young, Assistant Director of Public Works. “The goal of this annual maintenance is to provide consistently safe and efficient roadways for motorists in St. Charles.”
The 2017 Street Rehabilitation Program page will have construction updates for each street. On the page there also is a map that shows where the work is taking place.
