St. Charles Woman Killed In July 4th Crash Near Elburn

The single-vehicle collision occurred during the early morning hours on the Fourth of July.

ST. CHARLES, IL – A 31-year-old St. Charles woman is dead following an early morning crash on the Fourth of July. Yoselyn Mondragon, of the 1900 block of Forrest Drive in St. Charles, was heading west on Route 38 west of Route 47 near Elburn when, for an unknown reason, her Chevy Trailblazer went off the road and rolled over, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office. Mondragon, the driver of the vehicle, was the only one inside and was taken to Delnor Hospital where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.

There were no additional vehicles involved in the crash. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing, police said.
