Suburban Man Killed After Fall from Catwalk at Chicago Concert
The 24-year-old Hanover Park man was impaled by pieces of metal.

A 24-year-old Hanover Park man was killed Friday night after falling from a catwalk at the Aragon Theater in Chicago and becoming impaled by pieces of metal, the Daily Herald reports.
Kyle Kirchhoff was attending a Chevelle concert when he ventured onto the catwalk, where he wasn’t supposed to be, according to CBS Chicago.

Kirchhoff was with two friends, watching the concert from a second-floor balcony area, when two of the three found their way onto the catwalk, the Chicago Tribune reports. They soon realized Kyle wasn’t with them and that he had fallen six to eight feet and landed on two pieces of metal protruding from the floor, according to the article.
The death remains under investigation.

The concert was cancelled following the fall and the band, Chevelle, posted the following message on its Facebook page: “To our fans at the Chicago show : We are very sorry we had to end the show early. Due to a serious injury in the crowd the fire marshal was forced to cancel the rest of the show. We hope that whoever was injured makes a swift recovery.”
