Sunshine Lighting in St. Charles to Close
The business at 2312 W. Main St. plans to close its showroom by the end of November.

Sunshine Lighting, at 2312 W. Main St. in St. Charles, will close its 8,000-square-foot showroom by the end of November, according to Suburban Life Publications.
Tom and Sandie Vlach, owners of Sunshine Lighting for the past 25 years, said online shopping and the addition of big box retailers in the area, such as Lowe’s, Menards and The Home Depot, has left “no market for their specialty store,” according to the article.
The Vlaches still plan to do business through their website, www.sunshinelighting.net, and by e-mail, sunshinelights@aol.com, and will continue to provide lamp repairs, the newspaper reports.
