Traffic Signal Work Will Close Dean Street at Randall Road on Tuesday

A flashing yellow left-turn signal will be installed at the intersection of Dean Street and Randall Road.

ST. CHARLES, IL - The Kane County Division of Transportation will be adding flashing-yellow left-turn arrows at the intersection of Dean Street and Randall Road this Tuesday, forcing crews to close Dean Street for the day.

Dean Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 12. Randall Road through traffic will be allowed to continue without stopping at the intersection while the traffic signals are being worked on during the day, according to a Kane County DOT press release.

Traffic delays are expected in the area and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, according to the news release.

Motorists traveling northbound on Randall Road on Tuesday will only be allowed to access Dean Street eastbound from the northbound right turn lane. Motorist traveling southbound on Randall Road will not be able to access Dean Street during the above-mentioned work period.

Motorists are advised to utilize North 15th Street, Peck Road, and Route 64 as alternate routes for east/west travel. For north/south alternate routes and access to retail areas along Randall Road, motorists are advised to use the alternate routes.

Access to the retail buildings east of Randall Road at Dean Street will be allowed by right turn only from northbound Randall Road. There will be no access to Randall Road from Dean Street.

Changeable message boards will be placed in several locations to provide advance warning to motorists of the intersection closing.

Flashing Yellow Arrow Info

This flashing yellow arrow will allow motorists to turn left after yielding to oncoming traffic and pedestrians.

Traffic waiting to turn left will receive the protected left turn with a green arrow while oncoming traffic has a red light. While both directions of through traffic have a green light, motorists waiting to turn left will receive the flashing yellow arrow indicating that they may turn only when it is safe to do so.
