St. Charles, October 23 – Trio Melange brings a musical mix of something for everyone when it opens the 2015-16 “Music in the Gallery” concert series at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 8 at the Norris Cultural Arts Center.
Comprised of soprano Susan Dennis, pianist Rosemary Schroeder and guitarist Quentin Dover, Trio Melange delivers the musical equivalent of a world tour, including classics from the European masters, folk music of Latin America, American film music, and even music of the Far East performed by Dover on an authentic Chinese pipa – a string instrument with an unmistakable Asian sound.
With ten programs running from November through June, the 2015-16 season of “Music in the Gallery” concerts at The Norris continues with two holiday-themed concerts, a “Christmas Harp” program Nov. 29 featuring harpists Kate Cockle and Abby Hughes, and an “Irish Christmas” concert Dec. 20 performed by the Ragged Rascals, a popular local Irish band.
