Unwind Wednesdays Return To Downtown St. Charles With Expanded Summer Schedule

The First Street Plaza event series will begin on Wednesday.

ST. CHARLES, IL— The St. Charles Business Alliance is bringing back Unwind Wednesdays for a second season this summer, expanding the downtown event series to twice monthly along the First Street Plaza, official said.

The series will run on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from June through August, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., according to a news release from the St. Charles Partnership.

The events feature live music performances along with designated outdoor areas where attendees 21 and older may purchase and consume alcoholic beverages from participating downtown businesses, according to a news release.

St. Charles Business Alliance Executive Director Jenna Sawicki said the expansion follows a successful inaugural year for the program.

“Following the success of Unwind Wednesdays last season, we’re excited to double the number of dates this summer,” Sawicki said. “Expanding the series gives patrons even more opportunities to enjoy the First Street Plaza, downtown St. Charles, and the wonderful nearby local businesses.”

Organizers said all beverages must remain within designated boundaries on the plaza. While the event is open to all ages, only guests 21 and older may consume alcohol. Outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted, and security will be on site to enforce event rules.
