ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles City Council has approved a special use permit to allow a 138-foot Verizon cellular tower to be built off Route 64 on the city's east side, according to Shaw Local News Network.

The cell tower will be built on the north side of a parking lot behind the Volkswagen dealership at 4050 E. Main Street, which is located within the Pheasant Run Property Association, according to the article. The property association does not allow cell towers but an agreement has been reached between DRA Realty Advisor Properties LLC and the property association to allow the tower to be built.

DRA Properties petitioner Doug Dolan said the addition of the tower would improve coverage and capacity across St. Charles, according to Shaw Local News Network.
