Vero voce Holds Audidtion for Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical

Vero Voce Theater will hold auditions for Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical, seeking adults and children by appointment on Sunday from 2-6pm

Vero Voce Theater will hold auditions for Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, seeking adults (21and over) and children by appointment on Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 2:00-6:00pm. Please register at for a specific audition time at https://verovoce.com/audition-form. Please arrive prepared to sing 16 bars of a musical theater song in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music in your key. No accompaniment tracks will be permitted. An accompanist will be provided. Also, perform from memory a 30-45 second monologue.

Matilda will be Co-Directed by David Rodriguez and Dennis Brown, with Music Direction by Dawn Harkins and Choreography by Haleigh Hutchinson. Rehearsals will run from 6:00-10:00 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays beginning February 4, 2020. Children will be released from rehearsals at 9 pm if required. Performances will run on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00pm and Sundays at 6:00pm, April 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 & 26, 2020. Roles are performed without pay.

Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other's lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!
