Veterans Day Ceremony Planned for November

The city of St. Charles will host the ceremony on Nov. 10.

ST. CHARLES, IL -- The city of St. Charles Annual Veterans Day ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. on Nov. 10 inside the St. Charles Fire Station #1, 112 N. Riverside Avenue. St. Charles officials are welcoming the public to the event, which is meant to recognized the country's veterans for their service.

“Veterans Day is a holiday set aside to honor and thank the men and women who served our nation in the military, both in wartime and peace,” said St. Charles Mayor Raymond Rogina. “It is a day when everyone should acknowledge what our veterans have sacrificed to guard the security our nation. We hope to see a good crowd at the ceremony again this year.”

The ceremony will begin with a reading of the official Veterans Day Proclamation, followed by an invocation, salute to the flag, gun salute and Taps performance.
