Award-winning guitarists Landreth and Cashdollar perform a mix of original songs with contemporary and traditional blues.

Virtuoso blues guitarists Sonny Landreth and Cindy Cashdollar bring a mix of original songs with contemporary and traditional blues and roots to the Elgin Community College Arts Center, located in Building H on the Elgin Community College campus at 1700 Spartan Dr., Saturday, Dec. 6, 7 p.m.

The evening will feature a mix of original songs and audience favorites showcasing the unique skill of Louisiana’s slide guitar wizard Landreth and the incredible talent that has earned Cashdollar, Austin’s sweetheart of the steel guitar, to be the first woman to be inducted into the Texas Steel Guitar Hall of Fame.

Guitarist Eric Clapton has hailed Landreth as one of the most advanced guitarists in the world and one of the most under-appreciated. In addition to Clapton, Landreth has collaborated with many legendary performers including John Hiatt, Jimmy Buffett and Mark Knopfler and he was part of the Peter Frampton’s 2013 Guitar Circus tour, often closing the night playing with Frampton on an extended “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” Honors include Americana Music Association Instrumentalist of the Year (2005). Landreth has released 11 albums to date and is scheduled to release his newest album in March 2015 of blues or blues inspired songs.
