Dear LFreiberg,
you are quite right. Instead of reading what an intelligent and wise former teacher had to say about the Affordable Healthcare Act (ACA/Obamacare), get the information directly from the horse's mouth. Please go to: https://www.healthcare.gov/
where you will get all the information that you need about the healthcare law. You can use the tools on the website to see what your potential premium will be effective January 1. Basically, if you are employed and have insurance, you do not need to do anything. If you are on Medicare or Medicaid, you do not need to do anything. The same applies for those who are Veterans, you do not need to do anything.
If you are unemployed, however, you will be able to get insurance through the exchange and shop/compare for coverage like you do when shopping for car insurance.
Come to my event on Thursday, September 26 at the Arcada Theater at 6:30pm to learn more about the ACA. Healthcare professionals will be explaining the Exchange at the state level and healthcare professionals will be explaining it at the local level so everyone can understand what's in it for them.
Thanks for your comments.
