What would you like to see happen with Geneva's Mill Race Inn building and property?

Talks are beginning to take shape over future plans for Geneva’s Mill Race Inn.

The Shodeen Group acquired the historic restaurant six months ago and this week wrapped up initial talks with architects regarding an early plan for the site, according to the Chicago Tribune. A second plan will be drafted and could be shared with the public in the next month.

Rumors have been circulating over what could take the place of the inn, which is located on a 1.4-acre property at East State Street and Illinois Route 25, the newspaper reports.

Many would like to see a restaurant re-open on the property but some would like to see a public venue that could be used as part of a riverwalk, historic storefronts that resemble others on Third Street or private riverside townhouses or apartments, the Chicago Tribune reports.
