Woman Charged With Reckless Homicide, DUI In Fatal Hit-And-Run: St. Charles Police
Police say a woman left the scene after a 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night.

ST. CHARLES, IL — A woman is charged with reckless homicide, aggravated DUI and possession of a controlled substance after police say she left the scene of a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist Wednesday night in St. Charles.
According to police, officers responded to a report of a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle at 8:52 p.m. at the intersection of Country Club Road and North 5th Avenue. A witness reported that the driver of the SUV may have fled the scene, police said.
Officers and paramedics found the injured driver of the motorcycle, identified only as a 27-year-old Elgin man. He was taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

St. Charles police said officers found the SUV and driver, identified as 29-year-old Morgan Mroz of West Chicago, nearby.
According to police, an investigation led to the arrest of Mroz on charges of failure to report a crash or death, aggravated DUI-crash causing death, reckless homicide and possession of a controlled substance. All charges are felonies.

Police said Mroz also received four traffic citations and was taken to the Kane County jail for a conditions and detention hearing.
The St. Charles Police Department is encouraging anyone who might have additional information regarding this incident to contact the St. Charles Police Department at 630-377-4435.
According to jail records, Mroz is due to appear in court Friday morning. Although police said Mroz is from West Chicago, jail records list an address in St. Charles for her.
