Work Begins On $6.35M Expansion at St. Charles Elementary School

There's been a rise in enrollment at Richmond Elementary School in St. Charles. Upgrades to the school will help accommodate more students.

ST. CHARLES, IL — Work has begun on a $6.35 million addition and renovation at Richmond Elementary School in St. Charles, which is meant to help accommodate the rise in student enrollment.

When construction is complete, there will be new classrooms, auxiliary spaces and upgrades to the gym flooring and roof of the school at 300 S. 12th Street in St. Charles. The work, which was recognized with a ground-breaking ceremony on Feb. 19, is expected to wrap of before the start of the next school year.

District officials say regular school operations won’t be disrupted during the project but parts of the campus will be closed at times as work moves forward, according to the article.
